Some low-budget mental health tips
Watch your thoughts: What is it you are thinking about when you are idle - bathing, doing dishes, walking. Change your monologue to optimistic, positive thoughts. Disrupt them with music. Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
Keep your words: Develop a discipline. Do what you say, mean what you say. It will build your self-confidence.
Develop a moral code: Read the original scriptures and analyze how they have created a code for a living. How to treat people around you, how to move forward in life. Pick what resonates and develop a code.
Give someone Veto over you: Growing up we feel safe when we have a caregiver. As we grow older, the need to be independent can often lead to loneliness. Find someone or friends who you can trust. Take counsel, listen to them. Trust their judgment when you are distressed. They’d see through the tunnel vision and help you get better. - Be someone’s baby 🙈
Smile often: It will trick your brain into feeling better.
Create a routine: Develop a routine for personal hygiene and self-care. Do not deter on any cost.
Crooked isn’t broken: Drop the judgment instincts. I see people labeling mental illnesses on others. It is not your job. See people as people. Everyone is going through something. Learn acceptance and forgiveness.
Most Important Point: You are well, there is nothing wrong with your brain. Understand this, “Most people have problems living, not psychological ones”
A nuclear lifestyle and lack of interpersonal relationships can lead to distress. That is not a psychological issue, learn to love better.
